My Hemoglobin Count is Very Low! How to Increase it quickly?

I have been seeing several people approaching for consultation stating the following reason:

  • I was married recently and my hemoglobin count is low
  • I am carrying/conceived and want to increase the hemoglobin count above 10.
  • My mom is very old and the hemoglobin count is very less.
  • I am a student and not feeling active all time.
  • My eyes have dark circles and how to remove it.

To give the direct answer to the above questions, it is low Hemoglobin count, it is due to the deficiency of iron in your body. I suggest you watch the below video to better understand the details of iron deficiency and the relation to hemoglobin.

Hope you got the better idea about iron deficiency and its relation to hemoglobin. Iron is available in different forms. It is available in dates, Spinach and other fruits and vegetables. However, the real problem is the absorption of iron in our body.

What is Body Absorption Rate?

The rate at which the body can absorb the nutrients, vitaminsminerals decide how healthy you are. Let us say there are two people taking the same amount of dates for about 2 months. We can not guarantee that both of them will have an increased iron or hemoglobin content.

It is because the absorption rate of their individual body will be different. Person A might be taking dates and other foods containing folic acid and Vitamin C content. It will increase the body absorption rate of iron.

Where as the person B may take dates and consume calcium rich food and have a cup of tea occasionally. Both calcium and tea will not allow the body to absorb the iron.

Vitamins and Minerals Required to Absorb Iron in Our Body

To absorb iron in our body, we need other vitamins and minerals. For example, Iron consumed with folic acid always a good combination. In the same way, we should not take iron with calcium supplements. We need to give an hour of difference before consuming calcium supplements.

Take more amount of vitamin C. The citrus fruits like lemon, orange, Pineapple contains more vitamin C. The presence of Vitamin C boosts the iron absorption rate in your body.

The thumb rule is to take iron rich food with Folic Acid and Vitamin C. Avoid Calcium containing food.

Food to Avoid While Taking Iron Rich Foods

Avoid drinking Tea as it reduces the iron absorption rate to 60 percent. If you eat dates and also intake tea, then the iron in dates will not be absorbed.

What is the Best and Cheap Way to Take Iron in Our Daily Life?

Here comes the real concern, If you decide to take more iron-rich and Vitamin C-rich food, you need to take more quantities of spinach, dates, dry grapes, lemon, orange and Pine Apple.

But it is practically impossible to take all these food every day. It will cost you more money. The fruits and vegetables may not be available every day. You need to buy it every day, prepare food and juice out of it. The very difficult thing is that you need to have time to prepare all these.

So, what is the solution?

Getting the supplements from the nutritional experts is the best option.  Nutritional supplements are prepared by collecting the required vitamins and minerals only. The remaining starch and other unwanted items are removed. They supply the supplement in the form of pallets.

The supplement will be manufactured with the required vitamins and minerals. By taking supplements, you can save lot of time and money and also be healthy in your busy life.
